Overview:Today, I'm diving deep into a fascinating and infamous mall located in the suburbs of Chicago. It was once a lavish, modern shopping showcase following the first malls in America. By all accounts, it should have succeeded and for its first few years, it did! However crime and population shifts plagued the mall over the next few years and heinous events occurred far too regularly. After just 12 years, Dixie Square Mall closed for good, bringing a much different legacy for the property. Blues Brothers was filmed there, yet afterwords was left to decay and that's how it sat for the proceeding 30+ years...
